The latest design (rendered image below) has now been tested to a standard I am happy with, I just need to tidy up the wiring before I can picture/video the real model. I need to put a lot of work into altering the build instructions prior to launch, fingers crossed end of the month.

Also due to the unfortunate demise of RepRapPro I am currently trialling a replacement PCB heated bed to ensure the standard components are still available for others to purchase.

    :) Thanks!

I've really enjoyed learning how to mill the aluminium plates to make this stronger variation, I now just need to stop constantly altering the design and get on with releasing it! :banghead:

If it ain't broken don't fix it and all that ;)

Will you be offering kits via eMaker of this design also?

Yes, I aim to offer the same kits (plastic parts, Ali plates, fixings) giving the options for builders that can make certain items themselves. However the Ali plates will have a lead time due to the machining time required.

Finally getting on with updating the Build Page to Indie i2 :D

So far I have updated the links in the Parts List section (not updated the kits on eMaker yet, though they are available!). All the 3d printed parts (Stl's) are now up for those that want to get printing and next I will be sorting out the Dxf's for the Aluminium plates.

After the update files in the file section disappeared .dxf laser cutting. This is a mistake, or you want to change them?

Hi, the laser cut file was removed on the latest update as the Indie i2 (latest version) uses Aluminium plates instead of Acrylic! The Dxf's for these plates will be up shortly

If you still need any of the files for the older version (IndieLC) then they can be found at the following sites:

Thank you for pointing this out, I hadn't noticed or been informed by eMaker!

It seems that due to the closure of RepRapPro, eMaker is now only being used to sell the Fisher printer and associated spares. This means it is no longer a open shop for other enthusiasts to advertise their goods!

I will do some research and see if I can find another suitable place to advertise the kits and source the additional components that where sold by others like me. I would use eBay though am hesitant to due to the fee they charge that would then force me to increase my prices.

In the mean time please feel free to contact me direct for any kits you require.

Outstanding printer - I'm really excited about the design! I've just built an Ormerod, but you've come up with some really excellent ideas! Can you post your DXF files for the aluminium parts? The eMaker shop no longer works. Thanks!

I've finally got around to producing the dxf files for people to make their own plates. Rather than putting up a single DXF file I have produced a file which shows a number of views with dimensions - Gantry Plate 1 in the 'Files & Drawing' section. The dxf is to scale (1:1) so the central picture can be used for programming your CNC machines. The additional views and information are to portray the pocket and hole depths.

Before I go to the trouble of producing the other files in this way I just wanted to check these made sense to most people? Thoughts welcome!

I like it! I think it makes sense. All the information you need to make the part; size , depth , location of features are all included and easy to read.

    Thanks for the feedback!

As no one else has commented I'm guessing the rest agree so I best get producing the other dxf's! :)

I think what you have done is just great and I look forward to seeing the other plate designs in the same format.

Received parts from Simon to build an Indie I2 yesterday. The aluminium and printed parts I received all look nice, and everything was neatly packed.

Hello, all . Just got done printing out the parts for a build and have my rails cut. The build is for my 5th grader. He wanted his own printer so he is going to do the build. Are the other DXF files for the other plates available? I am going to do a test print with some CF ABS and see how that works as an option to milling the parts.

    Great design, thanks for sharing.

The main DXF files are now uploaded, just a few more to go for the heated bed! Also I have uploaded some of the pictures/videos for the Y-Axis assembly :D

Working on my build. Much of the mechanical assembly I can figure out from the 360 video, but the filament drive system, especially, needs some instructions.
