Hello , The question i have is the following: I would like to use the cnc to make cabinets doors etc and maybe some 3D carving. So i would use a lot of a drilling programs. Now is there a program where i can just select drill hole here and next one there and copy it to make fast and easy to make line drillings ? What software cam would you reccomend me, if its possible not to expencive? grtz Peter
I have done drilling patterns with SketchUcam and it has worked well. It is a free add on to Sketchup. It has a good tutorial and there are youtube videos available to help learn it. I just read the help section as I was using it to figure things out.
In SketchUcam you can very quickly generate a grid of holes. Hundreds at a time if you need them. The grid can be just one line of holes too, just enter 1 for the number of rows or columns. Another way is to use construction lines to define the centers of your holes, then you just click every intersection. For 3D carving you will need something else, maybe Vcarve Pro?
