    @daz

I'd like to see more info about your proximity sensors, what kind, and how you have them connected and 'talking' to the system.
    Thanks!

The cable management and enclosure set-up videos are great.
Is there any chance of putting together a part/supply list, particularly for the VFD, and drawings for your baseboard?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I nearly forgot to mention, thanks for the detailed videos on Mach 3 operation.
As I am new to the process of getting the "In my head phase" to the "Look what I made phase", thank you.

Love that first video and I don't see what was wrong with it. A beautiful build. I did have a funny moment during the watching though. Who besides me when the vinyl cutter started heard the beginning rift to Teenage wasteland by the who. Maybe it was just be.

I use Mach4 so the post processor I`m using is actually a customized mach3 post processor, if you are using GRBL then just a Generic post processor should be fine

Beautiful. I am curious what bit and what feed rate/depth of cut/step over you used. I too have a lead screw driven Ox variant, so I am always curious about these things. I have cut some aluminum successfully, but I mostly cut wood.

I am using Zeda Carbide bits (Very good they are) and tend to keep things simple, at an average a 3mm bit I would run spindle at 12000 rpm , Feed rate 1000mm/min at 0.3mm depth, any stepovers I normally do at 2/3 of the bit size and I seem to get constant results. :)

Funny but they sell bits for aluminium that are dearer than standard ones but are crap, I am using the Tialn XI range.

Giarc provided me with a link to your video after I was discussing belt slippage on my Y-axis after I described adding a single leadscrew to my longer X-Axis. I think you may have just solved all of my issues with slippage with your design. It would be nice though if you provided a drawing of your cross axis modification. I'm quite sure there are many others who could greatly benefit from your design ideas.

Its a 1.5kw air cooled spindle with an ER16 collet and takes bits upto 12mm, just purchased the water cooled version for new machine.

    DazTheGas.
Are you sourcing your spindles through one supplier, or are you shopping around?
The reason I ask is that I intend to get myself a 1.5kw water cooled spindle, but I am always worried I might pick the one unreliable supplier. :banghead:
So, if you have had great service from a company, particularly in China, I would be greatful for a name or site to visit. :)

I shopped around for both spindles as the 1.5kw normally come with er11 collets but the ones with er16 collets are much harder to find. The latest one I had to get from germany as none in the uk.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. (I'm new here) Where are the files for the plates you made to convert it from belt to screw? It's exactly what I want to do to the Ox I intend to make in the next few months.

    Great video of the conversion.

Dazthegas I was wondering if you have the files files for the plates required to upgrade to lead screws. I found it for solidsworks and such but was wondering if anyone has them for Sketch up. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok Thanks anyways, I’ll just try to have the files converted to a sketch up format. I am very much looking forward to having my ox converted over to acme screws for better accuracy and no belt jumping.

Hi Scott, did you get the files to convert to Sketchup? If so can you share them please?

I have also been trying 360... Do you have the files for that format? Funny, I was thinking of the exact same modification as I build the OX Metal..... But was not sure how I would do the X axis. Brilliant!
