Here are my Z axis guide files. They use 3 full size v-wheels and have a built-in tensioner. Im working on the anti backlash threaded rod guide next. It will nest into the side of the z axis guides and be designed to use the same 5/16" threaded rod Roberta uses. My primary design principle remains basement floor parts costs. I'm targeting 5-6 printers of alternate designs. Once the kids get further along we may have many more designs added to the Clementine line. But at the moment i am the only one working on 3D printers. I have the students focusing on robot spiders. 3 Wheeled Full Size V-Wheel Z Guide with Tensioner (Non-Printer Specific) by Tabris25
i figured it would keep the belt protected in case something fell on the rail. my long term plan has 4 of these inside a curio cabinet to act as the enclosure so the kids can see the printers while they do their thing. While the boxiness of the curio controls the print chamber temp. so meanwhile its an open frame and im very clumsy.
Man day job keeps stealing my time. but i finally got real progress. assembly of the mechanicals is 99.9% complete. electronics go next. got the heated bed installed. unwired at the moment. also the direct drive extruder i heavily modified from the original: www.thingiverse.com/thing:1383913 and my remix here: Modified bits to allow e3d clone hotend by Tabris25 i also continued my in slot belt guide belt clip design from the y axis and remodded it for the x.:
