In all honesty I would love to use this on my upcoming ox build. Can't wait to get it started and this would make a fantastic addition to the build
I would use this to build my first 3D printer! Would love to learn all about this board and share my build!
I guess replying to the post is how to enter, since it really doesn't say? Getting ready to order the structural parts for my first build. Have to wait on the electronics due to funding, so this would come in VERY handy!
I have a sketchup design, similar to the OX, that I'm waiting to have enough funds to purchase all the mechanicals at once, rather than parts scattered around the house.
I'd use it to build me first CNC machine(probably an Ox) as I just converted a Laser Cutter over to a 4Xc Smoothieboard running LaserWeb4 and I loove it!!! Easiest setup to reconfigure by far!
I would use this board on my new build I was given about 60' of 2.5 aluminum square tube 3/8 wall. I'm currently using my cbeam to cut trial and error plates for end caps and gantry plates. I'm using open rail with groove bearing 3/8id so I've made up my own eccentrics using 5/8!bolts the few I've made up so far work .pics are of the z axis I'm working on
I am working on a build similar to the one done by BeTrue3D ( BeTrue3D Printer ) But instead of the Duet WIFI controller, I am planning to use a smoothieboard.
I'm torn between a laser and a CNC mill... both are definitely in the works, but I feel like a mill would be more generally useful and (potentially) cheaper. Either one would very much benefit from Smoothie, though. And with either one I can give Laserweb a try, so double bonus.
Currently still using a cheap ramps board for my Eustathios printer. Smoothie board would really improve the quality of my 3DHubs orders!
I've been wanting to build a custom output transformer winding CNC. It'd be capable of winding up to 10 awg solid core wire with tension feedback and the ability to for do multiple winding simultaneous as well. I'd use these transformer in "retro style" tube amplifiers.
Have already started making my parts list for my first build.. Wanting to go and try my paws at a nice laser engraver *nods*
I'd put the Smoothie board on my COREXY printer Core Xy 001 by Lindsey Lewis posted Mar 21, 2017 at 11:17 AM
