I would swap my fried XYZ Da Vinci mainboard for the Smoothieboard and make it a Wolf in sheep's clothes Then start printing RC planes and other cool stuff again.
Hello, my name is Alessandro (Anthony Z. Davis is my pen name) and I’m a 21 years old dedicated and passionate model builder and designer and 3D printer enthusiast who joined such an amazing community to share all my future projects. The reason I joined this contest is that I'm currently working on a 400 x 400 x 400 mm 3D printer which I like to call "Print'O'matic", and it's my humble opinion that a fresh new Smoothieboard would make such a fine addition to its electronic system. Besides, my Print'O'matic, together with my TronXY P802MA, would make a fine "support" printer whenever I'll decide to finally open a 3D printing online shop. I think that’s about all there is to know about me. I hope you enjoyed getting to know me better. Thank you very much for reading.
I'll use it for create my procject of a DIY 3D printer, based on a 3D printer core XY (C-bot) with a Igus drylin Q for the movements.
Cartesian CNC router. I've been toying with the idea of the Stinger design because I already have the Nema 17 stepper motors.
replacing the grbl shield on my 750mm x 1000m (ish) cnc I built with pieces from openbuild and inventables
My supersized freestanding I3 based in part on the OneZ. I'm still gathering parts but more the frame is coming along!
Well I'm just in the process of planning a Core XY 3D printer and that smoothieboard would be an overkill that I could use to make an hybrid machine from it
I've been looking towards building a corexy or hypercube, and a smoothieboard would be awesome on that!
I'd like to add a 4th axis to my XCarve. I need to build a new controller system to do that. This board will go a long way towards that end. I have 3 kids in college and another who's only 1.5 years away. Yikes!!
I'd like a smoothieboard to update my mostly printed cnc. It freezes too much with the RAMPS board which leaves crappy burn marks when it locks up even if it's under a second.
