    "....a vertical vice..."? I'm hoping you mean "vise" as there are certain things you shouldn't do on an Ox. ;)

    This would be an excellent upgrade for those wanting a slightly larger spindle with carriage plates that allow beefier 80/20 extrusions for y axis travel to support the heavier Z. I might be interested in some aluminum versions... soon!

    Strangely the banggood leadscrew which that brass nut came with is a slightly different size to the one you sent, even though both are M8X8 4 start. So, that nut is time wasted and I am using your nylon one, much smoother really.
    Last night quick test run....

    Hi David,

    I just wanted to check, how far have you progressed with the Nguni build.

    Will you be using NEMA 17 or 23 stepper motors for the X and Y axis.

    Not much going on, been too busy on other stuff >-:
    I have Nema23's for everything though I do wonder if that will make the Z a bit heavier than it needs to be.
    Heavier = slower after all.

    I may have to rebuild my chassis and make it smaller.

    I just have the one NEMA 17 from Netram and plan on using threaded rod for the drive mechanism.

    My project has been on hold for over 18 months. I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible.

    I need to actually build a table to put it onto, but before that I need to make a place for the table, which means a whole list of other things have to be done first to allow that to happen. a bit overwhelming....
