Hey guys just to let you know that the eccentrics are in stock and ready to ship!

The eccentrics have been slightly redesigned for a more sturdy stance. (price remains the same ;) )
They have been widened the collar extended and can now be adjusted with a 10mm wrench.
The function and fit is identical to the previous eccentrics.
This is an upgrade we have been wanting to do for a while, and now that they are complete we hope you will enjoy them.

The model for these can be found on the OX build model

I'm having a problem using these with the mini v wheels. the larger face clamps the edge of the bearings causing the wheel to be locked. No rotation possible.

John, that's the reason behind the extra shim that comes in the mini V-wheel kit. One goes between the spacer and the wheel. (The other is fitted between the bearings inside the wheel.)

well, darn, I designed a unique assembly of laser cut delrin based around the old design that didn't need an extra shim. Now I have to redesign, re-cut and wait for more shims. This was supposed to ship by this coming Friday. I hope I don't lose the account.

I'll give them a call and/or just order the shims and then have our sales guys smooth things over. Also, We need to have a different but related discussion that is non public. It involves buying bulk quantities, price breaks at quantity, etc...... Could someone please send me a PM so I can pass along my work e-mail?

    Hello @Derwin Palacpac
In the new standard wide version (and metric) we have now the cam lobe taller, again for a more stable platform @ 2.50mm and the post height is 6.35 (1/4")
The new upcoming metric version will have a post height of 6mm

Fantastic, the issue im having has to do with the amount of weight the router/spindle has. Because i used a water jet to machine my z plates, i think it bored the hole too big which resulted in the spacers being a little too far apart, thus resulting in the router bit not squared vertically. so at max the eccentics i have needs a taller lobe and the wheels can grab onto the extrusion tighter.. Right on.. I was worried that i would need to mill another plate or revert to using the v-wheels. I'll keep an eye out for the taller metric eccentric in the parts store..:D

Hello @Derwin Palacpac I hope I haven't giving off the wrong impression that the new eccentrics will have a larger swing on the wheels eccentrics adjustment they will be the same. You may need to move one set of holes in to make up for the slop in the water jet cut.
The spacing on any given plate should be as shown in the picture below
    VSLOT plate_hole spacing.jpg
or in the resource model here: http://www.openbuilds.com/resources/sketchup-v-slot-model.57/
    Hope this helps

Just checking in, I had another issue. With the mini wheels after adding the additional shim, the eccentric spacer scrapes the v-slot extrusion when adjusted into the slot. I re-designed my plate so that it wasn't needed anymore.

true, custom. It's a dual plate truck assembly with panels for squaring, etc.... I used a dual flexure tensioner system to keep the wheel with a minimum of .125 lbs of force pushing it into the slot. After .009" of deflection the tensioner bottoms out against the main body of the plates keeping the plastic well below yield point and accuracy very high. . pretty nifty..

I could make a general one. This one is industry specific, but I'm also working on a 3d printer in my spare time, so i'm sure a more general version will make it into there.
