I have designed a 3D printer that I really want to build but am having a hell of a time finding a place to get some aluminum parts cut/bent/milled. They are small parts with very little milling. Anyone have experience on where to get some parts done that does not cost an arm/leg and first born child? Thanks Chris
Is it something you want a pro shop to do? If not, there are plenty of hobbyist that can do it. What thickness is required? I have to did for his info, but Chris....something.... for Blue Ox makes plate sets and does an amazing job at it. He's here on the forums.
No, does not need to be a pro shop. Most of the parts I need are pretty small and the largest one is just machining some holes in a 1/4" plate. I will look around the forums and see if I can find the person you are talking about.
Am I going crazy? I just posted a link to his openbuilds account. Chris Laidlaw If it disappears again, can someone please tell me why? And also, where are you located?
If you're willing to have the plates printed, I have a good friend who lives in Charlotte as well. I can always ask if interested.
