Nice looking build, but I have to ask, why did you choose to make it with cbeam? 20X40 vslot would have been strong enough to handle the weight of a laser diode.
I wanted the option to use a trim router as well as the laser. In the future I might be looking at a whole, from the ground up, redesign with vslot and nema 17's for just the laser.
Hello Do you think the diode laser is powerfull enought to cut Carbon or fiberglass tissue. I search a lot about this kind of test but found no answers. It seems for the industry CO2 laser with more powerfull rate is required. Thanks for your advice.
I would have to agree that a CO2 laser would be better suited for that application. unfortunately I found more functionality with the router attached to this unit and have been using it more has a CNC router then a laser cutter/engraver. I will be designing a CO2 laser in the future because of this.
