When I try to load this in 2017, I get nothing, just a blank workspace. Any ideas?

I wish I knew what to tell you. I did all the work in 2016. I’m surprised it’s not coming up at all. Usually it’ll give a message that if you save it to one version (the one the user is using) it won’t work on another.

Generally it will work on any version that is the same or newer than what it was saved as. When I open it it claims to be saved in version 17 (2017). If you would, please upload a version saved as 2014 or earlier for those of us who can't update to the current version. Thanks.

Yeah, mine said it was a 2017 file as well. Something weird with this file, though. I tried to load my original version, and it took several minutes to load instead of a few seconds. I went through and did a "purge unused" and "check for problems" but it didn't find anything.

Rick 2.0, you should be able to use 2016 no problem. It runs on my ancient core 2 duo 10 year old laptop without problems, albeit very slow. Mind you, it is Win7. If you are still running XP it might not. 2017 won't run on this machine though...

Terry, what exactly did you do to this file anyway? I can't really see any difference... Other than the file went from 6.4MB to 22MB.

Correct. Any version after 2014 won't load in XP (which is what I have on my main computer). I have 2016 on the laptops but neither one has sufficient video power to operate the software reasonably when the files start getting huge. And as none of my systems is 64 bit, 2017 is out of the question.

All I did was to go through and name all the parts and identify the locations. It’s not 100% but it’s close. I did not change the design.

How do you do that? I've never seen names on things other than if it is a component. I rarely make things components, just groups. Also, how do you specify their location?

I would appreciate if this file can be posted in a format that Fusion 360 can handle. I have purchased my mill and I want to do the upgrades right away so I don't have to tear it all apart again ;)

You might want to go back to the original Sketchup design on the original build thread, I couldn't get the one in this thread to open. There are also a few more pictures there.
