This is new to me, but maybe not to others. We find that longer screws are inclined to generate whip when being asked to drive at higher speeds, but take a look at this. Long Travel vs High Speed: Part 2 I'm pretty sure we can throw this idea out there, and someone can come back with a cheaper but reliable design we could use. I really haven't given it much thought, from a practical point of view, but I like the idea! Any suggestions??
Actually fairly simple. Can't really do it with TR8x8 screws due to the lack of decent AB nuts but to drill out a standard pulley, mount a dumpstercnc flanged AB lead nut inside and wedge the whole assembly between a couple thrust bearings would really not be that difficult. As far as reliability, that'll all come down to testing.
