I've got a 6040z with the typical SXCNC 4 axis controller that I'd like like re do with a Protoneer Raspberry Pi CNC Board set up or similar.

    Current Specs:
    Nema 23- anchuan motor 57hd5401 14S 1.8° 3A
    0.8KW water cooled spindle
    1.5KW VFD -NOWFOREVER
    PSU- s-250w-24v 10A
JP-1635A Board with a 4th axis stepper board

Set up is exactly like the pic below

I'd like to replace the JP-1635A Board and 4thaxis with:
Protoneer Raspberry Pi CNC Board / Hat
Drivers TB6560 or TB6600 whatever would be more reliable with the 3A motors

I'm not necessarily needing the 4th axis at the moment, I'd just like to get the cnc back up and running using the majority of parts I already have.

Would this set up work well? Is there anything I should change or add?

    Thanks in advance!

You've decided what you want to replace it with already - I'm not sure why you want to know if it will work well or not.

You are looking for purchase validation or what?

Is your existing system broken? Does it not perform to spec? Are you short of function?

In my experience, you start off with what you want to achieve, any issues you need to overcome, set your design criteria and any limitations or mitigating factors, and from there you arrive at a solution.

You have a solution - you want someone to tell you its the right one, when we have no information about what made you arrive at that solution or what you intend to do with it.

    RostHaus,
Looks like the Protoneer runs GRBL which is limited to 3 independent axis.
    Cheers
