Hi all, I am new to Openbuilds [first post], and I am currently designing my CNC project based largely off the C-Beam linear system. I have been coming across a 2.5mm anomaly when using the Double Gantry plate. It seems to me that the double gantry plate should be 2.5mm longer to fit into a 20mm grid module [see screenshot]. Am I missing something? Is the library IGES object incorrect?
Yes, the anomaly is really there. Don't know why though. It really messes with attaching 20x80 V-slot risers to the face of the plate. Sure the problem can be accommodated with the lengthened slots in cast corner connectors but there are times when it would be advantageous to just use screws through the holes in the back side of the plate into the back of the V-slot and breaking the 20mm module makes this impossible. Hopefully there will be a V2 of this plate with this issue resolved.
Hi @Sean Griffiths welcome to the OpenBuilds virtual hacker space You are correct this is a mistake on these plates and even though they are usable in a lot of configurations at present, like @Rick 2.0 stated a V2 that adheres to the 20mm module would be ideal for sure, after 20mm is the OpenBuilds standard Thank you guys for the helpful feedback and thank you for the tag @MaryD
