I love the Phlatprinter mk3. I have been using mine for 5+ years. It has run for close to 1000 hours. I've gone through 4 or 5 roller drive belts. My original controller was used with LinuxCNC but the Y axis failed on it last week. Replaced it with a CNC XPro V3 controller and was up running again in about 3 hours. I can't believe how much smoother it runs with the new controller. I can cut 1/4 inch foam at up to 400 inches per minutes without any problems. Parts just fly off the machine.

I added a pneumatic lift for the top roller arm. Best upgrade you can make. I flip a switch, slide a new sheet of foam in, switch again to drop the arms and send the code again.

What a great design Mark. Thanks for all of the hard work. I'll try and post some pics later of the pneumatic lift mechanism.

I have built a 1500 x 1000 modified OX which I love, but this is my go to machine for sheet foam. It's just so fast to change sheets. I also love the CNC XPro V3 controller. Can't believe how easy it was to get it running.

Wow this thing is awesome! I really like the way material is fed in to the machine.

Thanks Michael.M. We had a lot of fun with the Phlatprinter and it works great for cutting foamies and foam sheets for various projects.

Blowing the dust off of mine for a new class we have at the high school. We now have a FabLab and a Drone Academy! Woot woot.
We’re starting to build a few foamis again.
I need a chuck key and a new bit for the Chicago flex shaft grinder. Can someone point me to a suitable 1/8 bit and chuck key to purchase. Thanks!
