I wish the universal plate had eccentric size holes on alternating sides so that it could be used in more positions. It's designed to be run in only one orientation and has limited positioning depending on which size of rail and where they connect. There should be at least one more eccentric position, currently taken by the superfluous long holes near the loop hole, and there should be eccentric options on both ends of the plate so both directions are useable 80 full length and 40 shorter side.
If the small c-beam plate had a set of eccentric holes on the outer edge as well, it would be make a great 40x40 plate using standard wheels and can match-up nicely mated with the universal plate. The threaded holes in the c-beam plate are great and weirdly useful although I don't know what they are for.
