I've been using xPro with AcroLaser for 4 months now with great success. The board has accumulated at least 100hr of trouble free operation. This morning, I turn it on an noticed that drivers are not locking in place like they usually do when the power turned on. When I issue a move command nothing happens! The M5 commands turn the laser on/off no problem though. the voltage on the board input is stable 24V. what could it be? What can I check?

Do you have a fan for your xPro?

No, it's open air with heatsinks

Without a fan the xPro tends to overheat. If it doesn't work after the board has cooled down there is a good chance that the board is fried.

Also, check that $4=1 in your Grbl settings

Post your GRBL Settings. I believe the first one $1 needs to be set to 255 in order to lock the drives all the time.

So after a long delay, I figured I'd check the board out. Started looking at the settings and noticed something odd: all my $$ settings were gone! How did that happen?! Anyways, after setting everything back to what I had before(I had a screenshot from before) and it came back to normal. what gives!? I guess I shouldn't complaint: the board is back and working.

The screen shot is smart. I did the same and was glad I did after I lost everything once.
