?

I'm having a problem cutting in the 'Y' direction. The cutting head bounces in the 'Y' direction.

I'm having problems with my machine cutting in the 'Y' direction. I've been using the machine for about 8 months now and it just started to give me problems. I've taken the cross carriage off and repositioned the mounting brackets to no avail. Could it be rollers or the 'Y' position screw threads?

Are your anti-backlash nuts still tight -- ie. the screw that removes the backlash? I noticed after about 2 years, I had a little play in one of mine so I tightened it and everything is fine.

More info would help, what you mean by "problems"? and what type of machine you have?
Could be lots of things besides rollers and screws.. Maybe a motor, driver, software, coupler, eccentrics too tight...
    Cheers :)
