    Hi,
I have a C-Beam Machine with xPro V3 Board. I have downloaded the latest GRBL Rel. 1.0.9.18A installed on my Windows 7 Laptop. I have got connection to machine through USB Cable but I don't see any settings in the GRBL Settings window. I tried to click on "Get GRBL Setings" button but nothinghappens. What's wrong and how to fix it? GRBL Settings Lost_23122018.jpg

Hi, I don't have any settings shown on the "GRBL Settings" window even when I am connected via USB Cable and I click "Get Grbl Settings". Below is the screenshot of Sample grbl settings I had before.

Does it really matter if I use GRBL 1.0.9.3 or GRBL 1.0.9.18. As a matter of fact I have tried both.

Hi MHSB, don't worry about the version, it's not the issue.
Have you loaded the xpro drivers on your pc? found here I think arduino driver works as well.
I'm talking about the communication settings on "grbl panel" not "grbl" which is flashed on the xpro.
Typically the com issue is the correct com port isn't selected or the rate isn't set to 115200
When you plug in the xpro does windows see it?

    Thanks
    Gary

Did you install the Arduino IDE? I have windows 7 on the old laptop and I needed to do that to get the arduino drivers. I was using a newer laptop for several months that had it installed and when I decided to dedicate the old one to the garage, I had not installed the Arduino IDE yet and it took me (embarrassingly) way longer than necessary to realize what was wrong.

Hi MHSB, referring to Gary's question:

I think he wants to see your USB Connection settings, which port/baud rate etc you are connecting to. Not the Grbl settings you replied with :)

    For example:
    connection settings.PNG

    on the "Interface" tab:

    Hi Gary,
Yes I have loaded the X-Pro Driver on my Laptop (Win7) and now I am connected to the machine (C-Beam Machine). Below is the screenshot of the current connection and "Grbl setting". Now, I have no movement taking place when I try "jogging" in X,Y or Z direction.

$4 should be 1 (If you have one of the newer V3 XPROs)

    See Spark-Concepts/xPRO (the comment "
    (Board V1, V2, V3 Matte = $4=0 - Glossy board V3 = $4=1)

Hi Peter, I have another issue to discuss as follows:
Using the GRBL Panel (or Openbuilds CONTROL), when I jog my C-Beam machine in X or Y direction for 100mm it travels 99mm (297 instead of 300mm). I checked it using a steel ruler. What shall do to calibrate the machine for correct distance travelled?

OpenBuilds CONTROL > Grbl Settings > Scroll to offending axes' steps per mm > Click Fine Tune. (theres a calibration wizard in recent versions)

    Thanks!
I remember my original GRBL Settings for $100/$101/$102 were 200.00 and currently they are 199.100.

I will try to bring it back to 200 and see the results (Will do fine tuning if required).
