Thank you MaryD. One feature we are planning in this build is to share the electronics between the CNC and the Minimill. Having the smoothie board at the center and having the ability to swap configurations via the micro SD card, we hope to be able to accomplish this with little to no complications.

I will post up some more pictures shortly. I had several up but I must have deleted them along the way. Right now I am having a huge problem with a smoothieboard and trying to get that worked out but hardware support seems nonexistence. Mine is DOA and have wasted so much time jumping through hoops

If you are having problems with your smoothieboard, try contacting Arthur Wolf on Google+ He has always been very good at supporting the smoothieboard. As well, many of us here on OpenBuilds are very experienced with it. What type of issues are you having?

Nothing but the 3.3v light. No matter what I try. Been through all troubleshooting and all suggestions on the forum. I emailed Aurthur Wolf yesterday morning and am waiting on response. Thank you for your reply. Maybe there is hope!

7718BE9B-6D0A-4A29-A887-D3A32C6CD4E3.jpeg Our build is finally complete, we will continue to look for ways to make useful updates. Our first being the 2 inch rise gantry plates which allowed us to cut deep into the block for the switch. The wire track was also made easy.

Another fun project was the iphone/ watch stand. Both made out of walnut and using only a clear poly to finish. This stand along with the “Edison lamp” make a nice bedside accessory.

Looks good! Slate tile is good material to laser as well.
