It does not. The onboard drivers are on-par with the DQ542ma so ordinarily not needed. For larger use cases you would probably go a different controller route as well
Hello @jukeman60 ,everyone we had a small production delay due to some incompatible parts. We are past this now and the boards are starting the component assembly phase! At this point we have been working on the documentation and I have to tell you guys it is really looking great. The docs for this board are so nice! Its such a nice plug an play system. We don't want to spoil the surprise but we can't wait to start sharing some of this eye candy soon. Thank you again for your patience and support.
Hey Mark and team that is great news for you all and for us!!! Can't wait to get one. I am so glad that you are putting so time and much effort into the docs side of it. So many boards on the market have little documentation. Keep up the good work. mb
Hi Jukeman, yes they are complete! and on the way. We are gearing up this side to flash the firmware and get them tested and get them rolling! Super exciting times here as the anticipation is rising.
Great news mark We've been waiting a long time for this You can feel the excitement in the air It's going to be a great day for openbuilds
And so it begins.... parts are arriving and stations are being prepped to make room for the eagle to land!
Hello, Please pardon my ignorance. when I first read the topic I thought that the Blackbox was my solution. I own a 9x10 retrofitted Multicam router and recently been having problems with my controller box. my problems are communication errors basically ESS issues. or BOB issues I just don't know enough. Is the Blackbox a system I can use to communicate with my machine? Should I fix my controller? (old Bob Campbell's Design) or should I buy a plug and play control system? I don't know if that even exists. I really appreciate your input. Thanks
We'd need more specs of your machine, what motors, amperage requirements, peripherals, steppers etc. You might want to wait till release then the detailed documentation will be made available too
Hey guys, OpenBuilds BlackBox Motion Controller Update you heard it here first! Craziness of firmware flashing and bench testing! This bad boy is one amazingly powerful driver that has some of the smoothest sounding movements we have ever heard from a controller. Here are a few eye candy shots for the weekend Weekend work ahead but look out for this one to be available soon. Please share with your friends and let them know it's happening. p.s. Check out the cool pcb limit switches # love'em
Thanks guys, it's been a great Team effort. And we are seeing the combination of two plus years coming to life. We are looking to have these available to the masses this week! Including the new OpenBuilds PCB switches. Thank you guys so much for your patience and understanding during this Journey we have learned so much and moving forward will apply that wisdom and knowledge too many more projects to come!
Hi Mark, I am excited to put a order in for one of these. Any chance we can get a video of the controller in action powering something like the LEAD? Just asking.
Absolutely we are hooking the system up to a LEAD CNC and MiniMill this weekend and we will share some video of it in action sometime next week. It really has a whole new super smooth sound and when the motors engage you really get a sense of the amount of power the BlackBox has.
and thank you Mark for taking us on the journey with the openbuild team. We have a great community here always ready to help each other enjoy our great hobby. looks like you have a great controller with lots of features for us to use. again thank you mb
