I received my latest order from OpenBuilds today. The controller should work until I can create my own so having the support for additional drivers on the xpro v4 is really cool. I hope to have pictures soon and now back to working on the 3rd version of the head.

Well due to a shipment failure I had to come up with a new idea for my controller. The xPro v4 A is NOT an A Axis but just a clone of X,Y or Z so this board was not going to work. This will however work nicely for my miniMill which will now be complete....

Since my smoothieboard order got all messed up and cancelled I decided to figure out a plan B. I found the grbl code to add Axis C and spent the night modifying the latest 1.1g Mega release to support the C Axis. I just tested the X Axis functionality which is extremely smooth with the DM320T set at 12800 steps. Now I just need 4 more DM320T which is probably going to be a week until I receive those.

I made progress on the smoothie board but now have this odd jitter on the X and Y axis

Apparently the DRV8825s were not a good choice on my part as the above is a known issues with the pulses. I will try the TMC2130s as I would rather use more precision any way but the DRV8825 was just a proof of concept. until the next update....

I have to redesign the autofeeder method as they will not fit. The 0816 still seems like the best method rather than designing a custom autofeeder but as I wait for my FS90 and N20s I will have to figure out how to solve this problem.

Ok, progress made. The IKEA lack table is working very well. I will have to make some slots for the tape to extrude from the feeders and then redesign the frame as the height isn't going to work. I decided on the Smoothieboard 5X since they became available. It has been mounted at the bottom of the Lack table and then the 24V powersupply with the openbuilds powercase kit to simplify things.

Next steps are to design the frame mounts and wait for the openbuilds store to put the vslot rails on sale so I can get them in bulk :D

Ordered a lot of parts lately. I actually changed the framing as this was more flexible for my pcb holder and 0816 feeders.

I switched to using the CP40 from the Juki nozzles and went from a NEMA8 to a dual NEMA11.

I also just received my calibration PCBs. <photo attached>

Lots of parts from Robotdigg including two 24V pumps but I may stick with a new power concept and just do 12V/5V for everything.

Putting things together and will post photos as I can.

I'm going to have to redesign the frame again as the rest of the parts aren't designed to fit my needs such as the camera mounts...grr
