    Duplicate, replied via PM too:

"If by toolpaths you mean the G0 moves, then Grbl is improperly configured. Checkout gnea/grbl (NB set $32=1)"

With laser mode enabled, G0 moves = laser off, G1 moves = laser on with whatever S value was last set.

@jake1223 are you using an SVG file to create your toolpaths from?

    Depends on:
    - belt tensioned properly (not too tight)
    - Wheel tension
    - Which drivers, and what current
    - Supply voltage
    - Acceleration Settings
    - Additional weight (cables, laser, etc)

    +- 6000mm/min in stock config

Syl, his Grbl settings is the problem
Rastering bitmaps is fine (; no need to convert
    See my earlier post:

I ran a few projects after I changed the settings and it ran great, but now when ever I try to laser any design the laser will only work on straight cuts and will turn off when it hits curves or any other movements other than straight. Any ideas?

I tried to run the machine with laser mode disabled and it will work, but as soon as laser mode is enabled it will mess up again

laser Mode has to be ENABLED.

Can you post a picture of what happens?
Add the GCODE and any other files to help track your issue
    Post your Grbl settings too
Where are you generating GCODE? Settings on the application as well

while the x axis is moving in a straight line it will run, but as soon as Y axis engages for a curve or any other movement the laser will cut out

The Gcode is being generated using the openbuilds generator, as well as the controller

Sure your wiring doesnt have a break that disconnects when Y moves (yanking on the wire to the laser module maybe)

Hey im current looking for a fast XY Gantry for my P&P Application and the ACRO System caught my eye.

Iam wondering how fast an Omega Drive Y Axis can move, does anyone here have solid data on the maximum feasible speed in mm/s?

Positional Accuracy during a move isnt important

Cant say about the odrive, untested config, maybe ask them?

Keep in mind the Acro is designed for low weight, low stress applications. If the odrive accelerates like they market it, it might crack acrylic plates...

    Ah small misunderstanding here.

Omega Drive is simply the Belt configuration with the Pulley between the 2 Wheels ( cuz it looks like this Ω ) which Acro already uses.

And im wondering how fast that configuration is able to move the gantry

Just joined the rank of laser users today. Parts are on the way. Ordered the ARCO 20 x 20 and the Jtech 2.8w laser setup. I can go bigger later if I need to. Light duty hobby projects. I would like to put it in some sort of an enclosure. Can anyone direct me to some postings where this has been done?
    Thank you very much

I am curious if you have a 3d printer? if so, I have a suggestion that would require an IKEA location near you.
