Looks good! 2 to go and your Makita 3709 will be solid as a rock. BTW, this one will also work for the RT0700 and RT 0701 (the body is just a hair thinner than that of the 3709). If you have them on with the router, post a picture. Maybe I reward the ones who took the trouble with the files for the dust shoe construction. That works too!
Yep, I do. You have to adjust the circle for the dust hose though to your own sizes, the same goes for the adapter (stl file). What do you want, the SU file and generate your own stl and g-code?
Yes it would be great! I normally work with openSCAD for my printer and Sketchup with my CNC... but it's for my CNC

Yeah man! That looks great. I'm very sorry though, forgot to say that the top little thingy there is a slide in/slide out locking pin and should have be printed separately. Nevertheless, you might be able to carefully break it loose from the main body or use a very fine cutter for it. Print some of them extra, since I already lost 1 in the process and cannot find it back at all. Had to print 3 extra, just in case! The idea is that you slide the whole construction with hose attached in a locking position, first forwards with the slots over the screws that are on the clamping side of the mount, than upwards to lock it and the locking pin will slide over the top router mount through the opening there and onto the other side of the router mount. That way the whole thing is held in position and if it works it way down, it will only exert more pressure on that pin, holding it firmly in place. (At least that is the theory).
Here's a short video of how to attach the dust shoe to the router head. It takes about 10-15 seconds to mount and demount it.
The 3D model of the Makita mount is really nice but, alas, I don't have a 3D printer. I need a DXF file or something else that CamBam understands. I went to Instructables and their suggestion to use Blender and openSCAD didn't work for me and Blender is way too complicated. So, I figured out how to get CamBam to do the work. 1. Open the STL file in CamBam 2. Edit -> Select All {highlight everything} 3. Edit -> Surface -> Silhouette - set Slice Width to 1 4. Delete Surface(1) {essentially the entire STL model} You now have two edges around the object. We need to get rid of the inner edge as it is a projection of the radius or bevel on the edge. 5. Select outer edge to find out which polyline it is. It's #3 in my case 6. Select and delete all polylines other than the outer edge (#3 stays) Done Build up the machine operations and generate the GCode. Simple as that! I'm posting this as a step up for the next person who wants to cut the clamp on a mill! And, no, I won't have the recessed screws coming in from the inner surface. I'll just drill and tap the back of the bracket and run the screws through the V channel. I'm using Garolite G10 for all the brackets and mounts. That is some pretty tough stuff. Hi, Like your dustshoe design, did you post the files for it? seems like i cant find them here? Got a makita RT0700 that i would like to try it on. -Tore
