Has anyone considered the application of our CNC machines to the Art of Sgraffito. I guess on wood mainly. I think we could attain the accuracy needed, if we use thicker wood layers. Maybe a light wood and a darker veneer sandwiched between. Just a thought. Gray
You can use two-color hdpe or acrylic. It's used for signs. There's a thin layer of one color on top of a contrasting color. I believe we are speaking of the same process.
Nice one Gray. I think that's a great application for our CNC machines (must admit to having to resort to Google to find out exactly what Sgraffito was though ). Tweakie.
"(must admit to having to resort to Google to find out exactly what Sgraffito was though )" That's a hell of an admission there Tweakie!! I though you were going to come back with a chapter and verse about how the Family did when you were a little one. I'd never heard of it until this morning either! Read about it in a Wood Magazine. Yes Andrew I'm sure we are. How about laminating a Beige sheet, then a Grey sheet and finally a White sheet, of varying thicknesses, and then carving 3D faces into it? Or something similar. Mmmmm. I see some earning potential there. Gray
