Hi Guys I have a Workbee 1000x1000 with black box controller. When i am pocketing squares they are coming out fairly accurate but when im pocketing circles they are alot smaller in size than they should be. 8mm circle is coming out at 7.2mm any suggestions? not sure its a controller issue but maybe someone can point me in the right direction.
Have you tried the calibration help in OpenBuilds CONTROL software? Just in case are you running outside / inside or path operations for both cases?
Both operations are pockets which are done on the inside of the vectors. I have calibrated using the wizard and also manually. Its odd how its slighter over when doing a square but really under doing circles. Increasing steps will only increase both the circle measurements and the squares measurements. Ive had the machine in bits today re tightened everything and doubles check its square etc.
I would say that using calipers on a hole that small is unlikely to yield accurate measurements. A hole has round edges edges, calipers have square edges. The proper test is to use a telescopic gauge, or even a drill bit.
