Impressive build. I've been looking through builds with fixed beds and a moving gantry, I'm sure this will inspire my own build!

 

Really excellent design and build, I especially like the choice of the high helix balls screws.

Will you please tell me where you found those balls screws? I would like to try some like that in my build.
Also the couplings look nice too.

I see from your parts list, that you used acme screws for the Z-axis, was that to reduce cost or some other reason?

I see that you have a well equipped machine shop.
I wonder if you considered making a welded steel frame.
At least for me, (because of the work I usually do) a welded steel frame seems less expensive and easier to make.

About the bed, how are you heating such a large bed? Multiple heaters?
Do you plan to print directly on aluminum or some kind of sheet?

Do you feel any need to enclose it?

 

Good looking build. In the BOM there is reference to milled parts, are all of the parts on the BOM available via OpenBuilds or is there custom milling involved?

Any thoughts on autoleveling (especially for a build size that large)? You'd probably want to go silicone heater + volcanic rock plate for that, 350x350mm is tough to heat!

Awesome build! Nice pitch on those lead screws I'll bet you can make this workhouse really fly. Have you thought about ballscrews? I've found the leads start to have backlash problems after running them for awhile... Just a thought. nice build
