Being used to the high-speed, streamlined media handling capabilities of social media, would it be feasible to update the forum software's abilities? The main one for images is copy and paste. Having to Snip something (or ctrl-A>ctrl-C straight out of an image editor), save it, go to upload, find it, wait for it to upload... It's a lot, especially if you're trying to reply quickly or have a lot of images to work with. Why do I need to save a throwaway screenshot on my machine when it's intended to go live on a server somewhere? Even with drag-and-drop available now (not sure I noticed when that became a thing?), the "upload>insert" mechanism is uncomfortable too. If I want to put a picture inline, it needs to just paste in or drag and drop right where my cursor is. I don't care, as the front-end user, what's attached to my post. I care what's actually IN my post. It's just a weird design choice that seems like a holdover from 20 years ago. It all just seems like unnecessary friction on an image-heavy forum. Some people's internet is still a little limited, sure, but the overwhelmingly vast majority of people can deal with a few more images, rather than a lot of awkward back-and-forths that would be solved by just showing a picture. Videos, of course, could use some serious work. Expanded options for embeddable host sites, some native options for unhosted videos, etc. To be a crowning jewel destination of DIY machinery... You gotta be able to show the machinery!

All good ideas for sure Rob and ones we have been looking into for a while now. I can say that we have a few ideas for future upgrades to OpenBuilds.com and are excited to implement them. It's going to be a large undertaking that will take time, but well worth the effort for the added features and ease of use for the community. p.s. Peter I was not aware you could do this Thank you!
:O Since when was that an option?! I tried it multiple times within the last few months, including this week! That's SUPER exciting. Yeah it must be something pretty recent, because it's definitely news to me. Looking forward to the upgrades though!
I really like Greenshot, hit print screen and you get a snip tool and can copy for pasting or save to a file. Lets you select only what you want copied which is nice, no need to crop later. I Windows build in snip tool is ok, this has more features. Cheers Gary
