I am in the process of upgrading from shopvac dust collection to a 3hp cyclone dust collector. While I was running my Lead 1010/Blackbox the other day I hooked the new dust collector up to my bandsaw and turned it on. Immediately my Lead stopped in place and the screen on my laptop was saying that the USB disconnected.

I have tried it a half dozen times since then and it disconnects the USB just about every time. The dust collector is obviously on it's own 220V circuit and is 15 feet from the CNC. I have theories, but I am hoping someone on here knows where to look.

Do you have ferrite rings on your USB cable? How long is the cable. It could be EMI.

I'm still using the 5' USB cable that came with the OpenBuilds kit
