      Hi there Mark!
      I'm planing to build a CNC router with the c-beam on all axes and the CNC xpro v2 controller board.But I'm concerned about the speeds. Can it handle 3000 mm/min without overheating the stepper motors or the drivers on the CNC xpro?

        I would say 1500 would be top (and really no reason to go any faster for a cnc router) this would also be rapids. You may be able to go faster with a 24V PSU but I have not tried this. If you go too fast you can also run into lead screw whipping no the long screws.

      A dimension is missing on the CB-End Cap for the upper M5 screws that screw into the CB. From the CB drawing it looks that this should be 10mm. If you look at the left side of the CB-End Cap drawing it's obvious the dimension is missing. Not picking on your work, I just am in the habit of measuring once, cutting twice...

      The link is where I found the CB-End Cap drawing V1. My concern is the center line of the leadscrew hole is shown as 40.024mm horizontally which means the leadscrew is skew along it axis between plates by 0.048mm. Does not seem right so I wonder about drawing accuracy.

      I am interested in purchasing the C-Beam Linear Actuator. Since I will use a different stepper (geared NEMA 14) I will need to build a mounting plate for the motor and bolt it to the C-Beam end cap with four bolts (required). In looking at the Resources page on the website there is a drawing for the end cap designated a "V1". Is this drawing correct for the current version which appears to be "V7".

      You will need to open the file in SketchUp but from there you could export perhaps to fusion

      Its pretty easy to make up a plate for a laser diode and you could hook to the side of the mount. Have fun with your build!

      Hi Mark. I'm very interesting in making this my first build. 2 Questions. Will this work okay with Autodesk Fusion 360? Also, do you have info on an interchangeable Laser to swap in and out with the Router? Thanks.

      however I would suggest trying to upgrade your current system with higher resolution stepper motors.

      The belt system should give you a slight accuracy advantage over a lead screw design,

      Hello Mark, I have built a CNC router already, but I am interested in getting a finer resolution than I have . which is +/- .010 this is a timing belt design very rigid construction. So the question is can I achieve a +/- .002 with the open build system using your components, not theoretical but actual.

      I have tried to build in the pass but time and money . Well I am retired !!!!!!!!
      I have Nema 34 motors is this a over kill for the F-117 ? Lots more question but I will start with these

      Ooznest an OpenBuilds Parts distributor and the 8mm lead they sell is the same so it should work fine for you.

      press the key with the windows logo and the letter r on the keyboard at the same time then type "devmgmt.msc" without the quotes then go to Ports (COM AND LPT) press the arrow next to it you then should see the arduino name and its com port
