I had a bunch of very expensive bit starting to pile up in a little plastic drawer, and finally decided to give them a proper place to live. I started Drafting in Fusion 360 a bunch of holes. I made sure to cut in a lot more holes then I had bits so I could spend more money trying to fill them all in (got to catch them all)! I used the CNC to do all the cutting because I've never had any luck drilling holes in plexi or acrylic with a drill bit. Once the top was finished being Swiss'd cheese'd I joined it to the other pieces using acrylic solvent weld (all the pieces were cut on the CNC). The top and bottom were just 12" X 12" pieces sent from Openbuilds, the stuff cuts really well and doesn't require a lot of water to keep from gumming up the bit. I designed the thing from the beginning to fit in a Husky box from Home Depot. It's almost air tight and has a bag of desiccant to make sure nothing rusts.
