- Roughing at 2000mm/min, 40% stepover and 3mm per pass stepdown, finish speeds at half that speed, 40% stepover.

Downloaded this Tiki mask model from TurboSquid. Cost me $9-10 I think for the file, couldn't find a great one free online.
Used MeshCAM, two-sided milling (loving MeshCAM!). Used Universal GCode Sender for running the code to my Lead 1010. GCode was in 8 toolpaths, one roughing pass each side, 3 finish passes each side. I only let it run the full set on the front of the mask, and ran roughing only on the back. The back is just concaved - was running out of time.
Mask was simple 2x12 pine that I ran through the planer, got down to about 36mm thick I think. The mask was too tall in the Z axis when laying flat so I scaled Z only down a bit to get it to about 33mm thick, so my mask is a little flatter than the 3d model.
My son did all the finishing and painting. Finished the mask with Minwax "Special Walnut" stain, then paint on eyes and teeth, then poly on top. The teacher better give me, er, him a good grade!
