So I saw some cool led signs that people were making on Instagram, which made me want to challenge myself to take if up a notch!

Soooooooo. I used a piece of 8mm thick acrylic cast sheet from Home Depot to make the body of the sign. There is a middle piece that is only 5mm thick which when milled out like a frame creates a channel for the rain to fall. I figured that any width smaller than a rain drop would probably work... IDK lol. That probably has nothing to do with it, but 5mm it is.

After the glorious hours of drafting in Fusion 360, and having to think in negative and reverse I was satisfied with the model. Time to cut some stoof!

I 3D printed the Impeller for the pump on the Cr-10

After everything was cut out I used this amazing acrylic solvent to put everything together--

Me and Wifey put some water in it annnnd it didn't work o_O.... because of air in the pump. We added some more water and presto it worked great. Thanks for checking out this post! More to come.

Great Job, if you build a wood base put the LED at the bottom of the track, that will shine light through the bottom to the top

Isn't there a liquid that changes colour with temperature?

This would make for a great water cooled spindle flow meter. I could see it attached to the wall next to the machine, very easy to see if the water is doing its job cooling the spindle. Thanks for the share Jake!

That is a really cool idea! Could make the fill port at the top into the inlet port and have an outlet at the bottom instead of the pump. Hmmm I was also thinking it could be use for custom pc's that use water cooling what a cool way to monitor if your cpu is getting cooled. (the lights could change to red if the flow stops lol)

Is that little bump, at the top left, where you feed in the water?
Not having a 3D Printer, do you think it possible to get the parts off the shelf?

Yep! That is the fill port. I have some more work to do on this project which includes a wooden base and frame around the sides and a plug for the fill port. (maybe rubber) As for getting the parts of the shelf I think the best way to handle that would be to buy a small water pump off amazon. Some of the little pumps even have a pressure dial built in. Just search for "small water pump" I'd love to see someone make V2!
