Back in April of this year, I had never used a CNC or understood its capabilities, one steep learning curve!
My 1st grandsons toy-box.
I looked at various toy-boxes on the market and thought that they all were just storage boxes, serving no other purpose. I decided I want him to have what I thought was the best! So got to work.
Using Fusion 360 I created all of the base panels and run various test cuts to get the interlocking to work.
Once the interlocking was set, I started on the design of the other parts, I using a vector of Mr Tickle for the sides and made the handle his mouth! An Alphabet on the top and internal panels designed to be a road system for his cars!
I used Whiteside 1/8" & 1/4" compression for the general pockets and contours.
I used a SPETOOL .75mm taper end mill for all word/letter engraving.
I used a Whiteside 1370 Bowl & Tray for the road pocketing.
I also created an airport on the underside panel so there are two variants of road system.
Made from top quality baltic birch ply, 12mm, Danish oil finished and buffed!
