I've had my Lead 1010 now for about six months and have found it to be a great and useful tool in my shop. This piece is 18 inches tall.

I have always been fascinated by the concepts of the inferno and decay as a metaphor for the inner turmoil that we all experience from time to time. In my series of carvings I explore the idea of how we can use our own inner darkness as a source of strength and healing.

These carvings are inspired by my own personal experiences of pain, loss, and trauma. I use distressed wood and expressive carvings to create pieces that evoke the heat, chaos, and violence of the inferno as well as the loss and emptiness of decay. However, I also incorporate elements of light and reflection to suggest that there is hope even in the darkest of times.

I believe that we all have the potential to heal from our inner struggles. However, it is important to face our pain head-on and to allow ourselves to feel the full range of our emotions. Only then can we begin to process our trauma and to find the strength to move forward.

The carvings in this series are a visual representation of my own journey of healing. They are a reminder that we are not alone in our pain and that there is hope for healing.

“The Journey" is a powerful and evocative work of art that explores the themes of inner turmoil, self-reflection, and healing. The sculpture is carved from a single piece of wood and depicts a gentle stream of water reflected in the colors of a raging inferno . The internal inferno represents pain, anger, and suffering, while the stream represents peace, tranquility, and healing. The sculpture is a reminder that even in the midst of our darkest moments, there is always hope for redemption and healing.

This sculpture is also a visual representation of the journey of self-discovery. The colors of the fiery inferno represent the challenges and obstacles that we face on our path, while the stream represents the journey itself. The sculpture reminds us that the journey of self-discovery is not always easy, but it is always worth it.

“The Journey” is a beautiful and thought-provoking work of art that will resonate with anyone who has ever experienced inner turmoil or sought healing. It is a reminder that we are all capable of overcoming our challenges and finding peace within ourselves.

Thank you for the compliment. I used Watco natural danish oil. Being end grain it soaked it up fast in a few areas. After letting it sit for a week to make sure it was dry I buffed it with just a little bit of plastic polish to get just the right sheen (for me). I'm not fond of high gloss and felt that this was just right.
