Are you using two mini V wheels per side? If so, what size spacer are you using between them?
You could also design and print a toothed sleeve to fit between the two flanged bearings. Or even a design that uses normal M3 bearings.
I don't see an issue with twisting it, especially over the length of your bed size. If I knew these existed (below) I could of incorporated these....
