That 1/8" could very well be from the backlash. You don't, normally, see the backlash in straight lines just the effect of it.
When I read your post, before I've read the answers to it, the first thought that came to my mind was that you may not need a machine that long....
Axlhoss, what the pictures show is a typical backlash. If you checked all your screws/connections, as suggested above, and you're sure all is fine...
