Right. I understand the story now.... TLDR; the test piece was bending just a little bit So this started with issues with mach3 controller...
thanks Alex, will check again tonight. Tried a 1/8" bit first, and switched to a (nominal) 1/4" bit to rule out deflection issues.
the only think I can think of is that its skipping steps under load? tbh this is a 1.5mm deep cut at 1100mm/min in ply, so shouldn't be hardwork?
apologies if not clear in the post, the bit is a 1/4" but measures & cuts as 6.25mm which was entered into Vectric. Either way 2x0.1mm does not...
Hi Peter - yes nearly same error in both, I think Y is 19.5mm or so. Code spaced for readability. Vectric was set to a 1/4" bit at 6.25mm....
Hi Had a quick surf on the forum, but nothing obvious came up. (new) Openbuilds X32 controller with a (slightly smaller) Lead 1010 machine....
I replaced the wheels with polycarbonate wheels (Extreme vWheels) and issue is sorted. Thanks to all for your help.
So I took the Z axis plate off tonight and swapped the v-wheels to some other spare (new) ones I found. The originals were not loose, only a tiny...
thanks again Peter, I think the marks are just dust. I will disassemble and possibly change the wheels to see what's what. There is nothing...
ok so I sanded off the bits on the corners - good tip. I don't get it - I can't find anything loose but still move movement than I am happy with,...
Hi Christian - thanks for looking, glad you can see it too. I was starting to wonder. The C beam was a 1000mm piece provided by ooznest and cut...
youtube link - easier - [MEDIA]. It looks like its the spindle mount, but if you look closer the gantry is twisting too.
This is me pushing the spindle just now. This is after checking the eccentrics earlier. Its not huge, but enough to give the dwell marks as above.
Yup its all tight. Will get a video....
they are genuine openbuilds plates (via ooznest). It doesn't seem to be moving as in loose, but pushing on the router twists the axis - see attached.
I re-adjusted eccentric's as best as possible. Can't get them totally tight I think as the v wheels are smaller - I ponder bigger wheels would...
Right, so the wheel size is a red herring. The twist is coming from the Z axis (spindle) twisting against the X axis on the gantry. Is the...
Hi Peter/All So I've wiggled it and also measured the diameter of the V wheels. They measure at ~24mm OD, and I notice that the ones that are...
thanks Peter - good to know its not a common issue. Will do.
thanks again - fairly sure that its all tight. Is there another cause of play I should be looking at? Any common issues for the 1010?
