1510 Workbee Modified

    where can i get the original drawing or dxf files for fusion 360 of the x axis plate.

    I had used 4 bearing blocks on the z axis as you have shown on your 3d model!

    I did use the original plates in the design based on @Jacob Lotters modification. I screws both the front plates together but I think I re-drilled some holes so that they would match the threaded holes on the L shaped aluminum brackets which hold the carriages. See attached picture, it's not ideal but it might give you an idea.

    BTW I am almost done with another upgrade, a steel X gantry. With stronger 10mm plates and its ballscrew driven. Can do up to 12500mm/min. Hope to do some test cuts next week.

    Shipping charges make Mcmaster expensive to buy, I constantly face that issue. But I found some good alternatives for Mcmaster Carr. Raptor Supplies, says they offer Mcmaster Carr parts and ship worldwide.

    Hi Jacob, great build. And thanks for the info. I'm just in the process of modifying what's sold here in Oz as a LeadCNC 1510. It is essentially the same as the workbee, but runs on 8mm Lead screws rather than belts. As a side note, I've purchased a bunch of ball screws (20mm and 16mm) as the 8mm Lead screw has way too much whip.

    But my question is in relation to the linear rails, why did you choose to go top of the 80/20 on the X and Y axis? I have seen another version where the rail mounts horizontally, ie on the wide side of the 80/20. This does reduce the travel on the X axis by about 60mm, but removes the need for the extra bearing block holders. Do you see having it mounted vertically as removing torsional forces on the rail?
