I have just replaced my 262oz nema23 motors with the new 245oz motors here on OB. I have started with my y axis which uses 2 motors. and I am using a 4AMp controller board. x-controller.

the 262oz seemed to be working OK. but I had a lot of cut failures on tougher materials. So I thought more power could not hurt.

I think the x-controller has enough power. but after wiring up the new motors I am getting very poor toque ot of the new motors. I can stop the gantry moving with my finger....

I have tried adjusting the pots on the drivers to reduce and increase current to the motors. But its seems they are not delivering much omphh no matter what I do.

There must be something basic I am missing here. So any suggestions welcome. I could change the micro-stepping. and I can try slowing down feed rate. But it did not see be be moving very fast.

make sure all your connections are solid first, then i would try the current maxed out. you will know if you are putting out power if the motors get warm.
Check the voltage of your supply, maybe you are dropping voltage from the new higher current load.
Maybe a bad connection on the inside of the x-controller to psu, or maybe a bad psu.

What model controller board and what are the specs on your power supply? Are the Y motors slaved through a single controller?

I think he said X-controller which is this:

    X-Controller Kit

has 4 stepper channels, GRBL type controller..

ALSO make sure the input voltage selector is correct on the PSU, 115VAC or 220VAC

Thank you for clearing that up. It would probably be best to ask the question at Inventables however as it is their system and they would know far more about it.
