Recently i have just started my first year of high school and have joined our F.R.C robotics club. Due to a lot of student interest the only way to be on the official team that goes around competitions is to show dedication. So I am going to fix a 3d printer which does not work, my teacher is a bit on the older side so he cant really get his mind around the complexity of opensource rep rap machines. If anyone has any 3d printer parts hit me up, it would be very helpful.
Right now we have a frame with pulleys, motors, hotends and wiring. We dont have a control board or motor controllers which are our main problem, also we don't know if everything works since it has been sitting for awhile after the controller was fried. So really anything would help as long as it is a part of a 3d printer.
Hey there Neel, how is the testing coming along? Be sure to update the community on what parts you may need to repair that printer!
So this is it, a Rapman 3.2 which has no electronics (Got fried). It's a bit dusty and the z axais belt is gone but everything seems to be good, except the out dated "Heated bed". As you can see the printer needs some TLC and electronics to start functioning again. We think we can get a controller board but if you have anything that we could potentiality use on the printer please reply we would be glad to pay a price as long as it will not kill the school's Engineering budget. (LCD, DRIVERS, WIRING, ECT.) Ps: Anyone know how we could make a temporary belt tensioner for the the z axis belt
I have an extra RAMPS 1.4 compatible control board (MKS Mini Rev 1.1) available, possibly a few associated parts. I believe I also have a LCD interface with encoder knob for the same controller.
If anyone has a Rumba, GT2560, or any other opensource Reprap boards, please respond or PM us. We need a board that supports dual extruders and dual z axis setup. (6 stepper motor capability ) Thank you for all the support Piscataway High school Robotics team
Normally when running dual Z motors, you connect both steppers to the same driver so they do exactly the same thin at the same time. The driver can handle 2 small nema17 motors without an isuue, So you need a board with X,Y, and Z, plus Extruder 1 and extruder 2. A Ramps board will do this.
oh, ok. We want to get a ramps board, preferably a rumba. From our research the rumba is a pretty good board for its price. If anyone has suggestions for a board or can supply a board please PM or respond to the conversation. Thank you Piscataway High School Robotics Team
Right now we need; Reprap board (Preferably Rumba) Power supply Drivers MAYBE; Hotend parts Wiring Stepper motors Anything else that goes on a 3-d printer *MAYBE*- if anyone can offer these parts we might buy them just in case or we might end up using them. Thank you Piscataway High School Robotics Team
