Past that hurdle, to find the source of growling ball screws….

Hi, sorry if I'm bringing up this thread again but I'll try to avoid opening a new one. I bought the new BlackBox x32 because I am interested in installing the 4TH axis. If I understand correctly, to do this, I should split the cable that starts from Y1 and go to the two motors, I take Y2 to motor A and then install the FW for the rotary, is that right?
alternatively I could instead bring the y1 cable to the y1 motor, y2 to the y2 motor but split it towards A with a switch and when I need to use the switch to turn one off and turn the other on? Did I perhaps say something stupid?

perfect thanks!! by doing this could I lose power on the Y axis or is it as if it were the old blackbox that I used until yesterday (where there was essentially a divided y)? By doing this I could always keep the A axis mounted and above all move both Y and X if I'm not mistaken. Thanks again!!

X32 has a proper 4-axes firmware yes (its a 32 bit controller running grblHAL) so not only can you leave the A-Axis connected, you can setup proper 4-axes toolpaths that not only park they Y but actually use it (proper "4-Axes" toolpaths too)
