Hi, I built a C-beam style cnc (500mmx500mm) with the y axis driven with lead screws , c beam gantry plate on one ( outer) side of the cbeam with 4 wheels. Contemplating making this 6 wheels and wondering if folks had any comments/thoughts. I think it would provide better support but also ore drag. They are being driven by nema 17 motors currently. Thanks

The 1010 workbee for example has 4 wheels on top. I found that unnecessary and worse still, very difficult to get all wheels evenly loaded. I changed to a 3 wheel system on top (centre wheel adjustable), while the LEAD machine I believe has a 2 wheel system. Trying to balance the load on 6 wheels would be a nightmare, and you only have a small machine. Nema 17's, are not really a good choice either.
What I'm not sure about is what you actually have? Are you saying you have only one row of wheels running on the outer side of the C beam and none on the inner - not in tandem like is normal?
