Hey guys! I am trying to understand some things about electricity. Some things are really bothering me about electrical parts that i have bought. Let me first explain you my idea. I want use one power supply to supply my 3 stepper motors( one for Y and two parralel for X) At the moment i dont understand how can i calculate my maximal currents that i will have in my system. I have 230V in my flat and i will use a AC to DC power supply that will give me 60V. Power supply can handle 18A in total. So my question is, if i have lets say 15A current in my DC circuit. Is this current going to be in AC aswell? Please help me because i have ordered so many parts now and my head is exploding. I really dont want my parts to become garbage. P.S Steppers are Nema 34 Max curret is 7A Thanks in advance!
Watt = Amp * Volts So lets say: 18A * 60v = 1080w 1080w / 230v = 4.7 Amps Of course energy conversion isnt 100% efficient as the math above suggests... But probably well under 6A for sure (if its a switchmode PSU) or 8A if its a transformer based one
