Hey all ... New here. I was actually building my own cnc based on the 1515 but using linear rails and bearing blocks instead of the v-wheels. Just wondering if anyone has converted a Lead 1515 from v-wheels to linear rails. After looking at pricing of buying each component I decided to pull the trigger and just get a 1515

My 1515 is sitting at my house in Florida waiting for me to come home June 24th lol ..... I have a lathe, Mill , and a lowrider 2 router cnc. I do alot of small brackets for Harleys and other projects so I am looking to over build as us techies like to do

Check out the build section here. Converting it to rails will be fairly simple. If you want, you can check out how I did it on my Workbee which is a very similar machine, just has different end plates (link in my sig). For the rail conversion, I milled out 4 simple brackets for the bearing blocks. Off the top of my head I think the parts list was 2 sets of 1500mm rails with blocks, aluminum to mill the brackets, 4mm caphead screws and t-nuts to attach the rails to the vslot.
