    Hello everyone

I have built a fixed gantry router
I'm in the final stages of tuning it up
At present I have a problem with setting up the movement on all three axes
When I input a travel movement of 100 to the wizard it only moves 50, when I enter this value to allow it to calculate the correct steps per mm and then issue a specific distance to move, it's always way off.
when I tell the wizard I'm using a direct coupled 1605 5mm lead screw, 1/8 micro steps, 1.8 deg. and save this data, the next time that I call up the step calculator parameters it reverts to displaying an acme thread with a 20 tooth pulley.
What can I do to force the software to accept my specific data

    thanks

    regards

    Kim

Make sure your acceleration/max rate is set low enough to not stall. Stalling during the move will affect calibration
Also make sure its not mechanical (slipping shaft couplers)

That's just a calculator to help you figure out the Steps per mm
Nowhere does it need to save what type of drive system you have, it just calcs the steps and puts that into the steps per mm field

    Thanks

Apparently on my last try after restarting the computer and all, I was able to tune the x and y axis and will do the same for the
z after correcting an issue with its lower limit switch.

    regards
