Hey all, this is my 1st post. I used to run CNC routers years ago, & man have the programs changed... I had jobs already sold before putting my Openbuilds Lead 1515 router together & now they are getting backed up due to my inabilities to setup basic jobs. I don't care at all about 3D. I am a designer & I will do all of my vector designs outside of any routing program. I am looking for basic, non-web based program recommendations, preferably cheap and can use inches instead of MM. Honestly, the more basic the better & if anyone knows how I can create G-code directly from CorelDraw, Affinity, or Ink, that would be even better. Thank you Edited to add: Works on Windows 10
Try OpenBuilds CAM Gcode Creator - Public Beta (millimeters and web based though, but free) Your interaction with the metric system is limited to converting endmill diameters (anyway better to caliper out exact dimension as a 1/4" endmill is rarely 6.35mm, caliper it out, enter the 6.27mm or whatever actual dimension it is, read from the caliper, no need to do any thinking about) and speed in mm/min (which is also arbitrary for the most part) Don't impose limits on yourself like "not web based" - as thats by far the best way for us to deliver an always bugfixed and always up to date experience to you. For more info and other options also see docs:software:overview [OpenBuilds Documentation] Also watch - doesn't get easier
Thanks, I have been using it & it's okay, but I don't have internet where I live & have had to do everything through my phone's hot spot. Also, I just got done cutting a bunch of acrylic pieces and figured out afterwards that their program changed the size by an inch for some reason... I am metric illiterate, so I didn't catch it.
