I finished squaring up my OX and after installing the belts I'm getting a bit of belt drift on the X axis motor pulley. Am i looking at a major squaring issue or is it common for the belts to move about? Neither of the Y Axis motor pulleys do not have this issue. I'm banging my head on the wall here. I've reset my squaring a few times and come up with a consistent result.
Maybe everything is squared except for the stepper motor? Maybe it doesn't sit 100% flash in it's location?
Is it a consistent drift, i.e. always in the same place, or is it moving back and forth as it feeds through? If it's moving, then something has got to be loose somewhere!
Does it not, at any point, sit where it should? If not, it's got to be alignment I'm afraid. Pictures or a video might help.
Thanks for supplying the video. I really don't think that is too much to worry about, as far as belt movement on the pinion wheel. What is the belt doing on the lower pinion wheels, as it picks it up and puts it back into the track? Are you using a single or duel belt system? It could be showing you that there is a little movement in the Z axis. Without the Router/Spindle turned on, can you push the bottom of the Z-axis backward and forwards, as it moves across the X-axis, and cause a movement in the belt?
I didn't eliminate all play in the belt, however, i did find that the X motor was a hair off of flush with the carriage bracket. I moved it down a smidgen and readjusted the belt. There may be another small alignment issue, but it does not seem to affect travel too much. I'll work out minor bugs after this thing is moving under its own power. Gray, I appreciate the assistance. Thanks!
