    Hey everyone,
Happy user of an openbuilds Workbee with blackbox controller, using a laptop and the online Control software.

I'm renovating my shop and using the opportunity to add additional safety features. I've seen a lot of pictures of DIY CNC machines where people have an emergency Stop switch near the CNC machine.. this makes sense.

What's the best practice for adding one of these?

Should the emergency stop just cut the power to the blackbox, router and computer?

The more it powers off the better. What would the emergency be? If the PSU catches on fire, you can hit the e-stop. Hand caught under bit - estop. Machine got stuck and is all askew - estop. Ungrounded dust extractor exploding but fan still going : estop!
    Typically : wall socket > https://www.rockler.com/safety-power-tool-switch > power strip > everything else

Thank you PVDW, this solution worked perrfectly as an off-the-shelf solution. The only potential problem is that even though power is cut to the laptop I'm using to control, it remains sending G-Code since it just switches to battery - so the Workbee actually continues moving once the system is turned back on again. I though the "Lock" condition that initially happens when connecting to the workbee was a hardware lock on the workbee side, not on the control side.
