I was just powering up my system after the winter... brought it up, moved the router forward, back , letf right.. all seemed fine (via Interface) I spent a few minutes sweeping and general cleaning, turned back and the interface is dark. A probe shows no voltage coming out of the black box (fan is still on) Any ideas what might have happened?
During the sweeping, nudged wiring? Unplugged something? Etc. Any shorts (shorting V+ to GND can damage the 5V regulator onboard) etc
I am guessing something like that must have happened. It looks like there is a new black box (I've been away for a while), is that fairly a drop in replacement? Or is there a part of this box I could get replaced? (I've put in a contact to support for info too)
OK support will continue with you from there then, best to avoid duplication (same issue posted to multiple seperate support channels) Thanks
Agreed.. thanks, you guys are great on service. I was looking for more info on the new black box, looks like it can drive more tools at the same time? (dust collection, router/spindle, etc)? Is it mostly about adding capability, or has it made the original design more robust as well..?
Start here docs:blackbox-x32:layout [OpenBuilds Documentation] BlackBox 4X could also do all that. Nothing "new" there - just set up for easier wiring compared to the 4X (easier to document and support) It was mainly to evolve into 32 bit Processors running grblHAL - 8 bit processors are getting hard (and expensive) to find - keeping up with the times That in turn brought capabilities like Wifi, 4th Axes, way more customizable firmware options for non-standard uses, etc
